Torch Award History:
The Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics were created to honor outstanding businesses whose commitment to ethical business practices help promote and uphold a fair marketplace. The Better Business Bureau of the Texas Panhandle in partnership with the College of Business at West Texas A & M University conduct an annual awards program to recognize companies for their outstanding commitment to exceptional standards in relationships with their consumers, employees, suppliers, competitors, shareholders, and surrounding communities. The "Torch Awards" help to illuminate the importance of corporate conscience and responsibility to upholding a fair and honest marketplace.
The award is open to all for-profit businesses that serve retail and wholesale markets and nonprofit organizations whether or not they are members of the Better Business Bureau. Businesses and organizations applying for the award must be located in the upper twenty-six counties of the Texas Panhandle. However, the headquarter location does NOT need to be located in the Texas Panhandle.
